The first Bernese we saw was at The Horse of The Year Show in London. It was taking part in an agility competition. It was a real character and was centre of attention. Our first Bernese was Nell in 1985. We had visited some shows where we talked to numerous people in the breed to try to get a fuller picture of the breed as a whole. We had by then joined The BMD Club of Great Britain and were receiving quarterly newsletters. We heard of a litter of pups that had been born and that maybe there was a bitch spare. We telephoned and off we duly went to Coventry to see her. Well that was fatal, we brought her home with us. Her K.C.. name was JAH SOON COME OF ALYNGARN our foundation bitch.
